Is it a good read
I woke up feeling good this morning. It was Mardi Gras, you know Fat Tuesday. I partied all last night. I started with Bourbon and Canal St. and ended up in some hotel with a really cute guy. I got up quietly and checked his pockets for cash. A hundred bucks, good score first thing in the morning. I bet you thinking how trifling but I’m seventeen years old and just trying to make it. I learned quickly that you got to get it however you can. I’ve been on my own since I was sixteen. One year, that’s right. One year on the street is like a lifetime though. I use to live in Tennessee, I grew up in a dysfunctional family with a step dad who like to touch and a mother who didn’t mind looking the other way as long as her pockets stayed fat. So when I hit sixteen I hit the road. It was hard when I first got here. I mean, everybody was trying to get out on me. Rather it is sexually, mentally, or anything else they could think of. I started off as a stupid hooker, moved up to street looter, then finally a street hustler, which is what I’m doing now. I also work at Sal’s House of Crunk, I have to walk around topless but it pays the bills. Besides walking around topless is better than naked any day. Anyway back to taking the sleeping guys money he just met me, you should never stay all night with a stranger or at least wake up before they do. So I just taught him a lesson next time he’ll know better. I eased on my pants and shirt grabbed my shoes and slide quietly out the door. I headed to Krystal’s ordered my usual two sunrises and a cup of orange juice. After I finished eating I headed to my apartment. It is a small one bedroom slash bathroom, kitchen slash dining room but hey it is all mines. My boss had even given me a bed and old couch he didn’t want anymore. Good ole Sal, he tried to act like a tough guy but he was a total softie once you get to know him. Take the way I started working for him I saw a hiring ad in the paper that said House of Crunk needs new staff, see Sal on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. So I went in that Monday for an interview. When he saw me he said, No way I don’t hire anybody under eighteen. I told him that I was eighteen he looked at me and laughed yeah right get out of here juevy, I don’t need any trouble in my place. I came back every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for two weeks he finally said, You know what juevy you got stamina and dedication I tell you that. I’m going to go ahead and give you a try. No stripping for you though server only you hear me, he growled. Yeah I said no problem I just need a job and that’s how I got my first gig. Once I made it to the house I showered and started getting ready for work as I was brushing my teeth I got a call from Juicy(one of the girls from the club) and asked if I could work her shift I said no problem I needed the money anyhow. That mean I would be working a double today, good thing I did come home early. As I was headed to work I picked up a paper to look at the classifieds where they place the ads for actors and actresses.

"THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT" Hmmmmm
"The customer is always right" is the worst statement ever imagined and some people believe it to the fullest. Now if you have a valet complaint and talk reasonable to a sales clerk then maybe this statement holds some value. But when you are dead wrong and constantly yelling and gesturing it will get you sent right out the door if you are dealing with some one like myself. Scenario: I am the office manager at a tire/automotive shop. I have a customer who is buying (4) used tires. He asked for the price on all four i give him that price. He asked does that include balancing I reply yes. So then he asked how much without me getting them balanced, I tell him you will save about thirty bucks but I would not recommend it because balancing your tires keep you from having shaking or vibrating in your steering wheel. He says OK but he does NOT want them balance. Two days later customer returns and says he is feeling vibration in the tires. (DUHHHHHH! I told you that you would the day before) So i asked him if he would like to get the tires balanced. Yes he says so we balanced the tires. When we are finish with the automobile, I go to ring him up and he looks at me funny and said 'I JUST BOUGHT THE TIRES 2 DAYS AGO AND THEY WEREN'T BALANCED, SHOULDN'T THIS BE FREE?" I look at him ( restraining myself from giving him a dumb slap) and say no sir remember the other day you didn't want the tires balanced. You wanted to save thirty dollars. " WELL IF YOU WOULD HAVE TOLD ME IT WOULD BE THAT MUCH VIBRATION I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN IT DONE. I SHOULD GET SOME KIND OF DISCOUNT IS YOUR MANAGER HERE?' This is when I really love my job.... Yes sir, I reply, you are talking to her....LOOK ON HIS FACE....PRICELESS!
Why we try so hard to find love.
Everybody these days are looking for love. Seems like we can not tolerate being alone. So we try again and again at finding the right mate. Some of us have even settled down and married that one special person only to find out they really aren't "THE ONE" as we llike to say. I don't think that it is love we are really looking for i think that it is more about companionship. Someone we can talk to about work, the kids our friends and family. Someone who is always on our side. If you are single(like myself) you have to admit sometimes you really enjoy the single life. Being able to go where and when you want without having to please any one else. Being able to make all the big decisions in your life without having to consider the feelings or wants of another person is great. But when you have a bad/hard day, not having someone to go home to and just get a hug from makes that day so much worst. It's your bad days that make you feel alone. It's those days when you crave for love and attention from that significant other. It's those days when you want to crawl in bed with that special person and just let that day melt away like snow when the sun comes out. So I have decided to stop looking for "LOVE" and look for "FRIENDSHIP" that's a much stronger bond. Friendship can grow into so much more. When you are just friends you are not afraid to show the good and bad side. You are not afraid of saying the wrong thing and you do not have so much pressure on you to be something that you are not. I believe i have found that friend, we can talk about anything from work, school, kids and the lover's who may come and go in our lives. At the end of the day when it's been horrible and now the weather says there is a chance of rain.......I just call up my "FRIEND" and he comes right over to hear about it talk about it and the make me laugh about it. So like i asked before Why do we try so hard to find love....when we should just be looking for friendship and love will come along after.
